Happiness Journal Promptsโ€ฆ

Hello everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

Iโ€™ve been in and out of doing my happiness journal and I loved reading through all the prompts that they offer in books and online.

As I was reading them though, I was inspired with my own that I absolutely loved and I thought everyone would love too!

I love questions that not only make you think, but make you think it different ways than you normally would!

Think of the questions that kids ask, they are so honest and unafraid to ask, it always throws you off guard in the most wonderful way!

Itโ€™s definitely been one of my favourite ways to start the day, especially with a cup of tea or coffee. โ˜•๏ธ

Here is my list of questions to make you smile, snicker and scratch your head:

๐ŸŒธ What is your favourite plant or flower? Why is it your favourite? The colour? the smell?

๐Ÿ” When was the last time you ate your favourite food? Where were you? Who were you with?

โœ๏ธ Write down 5 not physical traits you like about yourself.

๐Ÿ˜† Do you remember the last time you made someone laugh? Or the last time you had a good laugh? What was happening at that time?

๐Ÿš— What is a favourite road trip or vacation youโ€™ve been on? This could be as a child or recent.

โค๏ธ What is something selfless you did today that was out of the kindness of your own heart? It could be as little as saving a spider.

๐Ÿค— Who was the last person you hugged? How did you feel? Was is a goodbye hug or a hello hug?

๐Ÿค” What is one challenge you faced and overcame today? It can be big or little!

๐Ÿ’• When was the last time you helped someone? What were you doing?

๐Ÿญ What is your favourite candy and why? Or if youโ€™re more savoury, whatโ€™s your favourite savoury snack?

โœจ Who is someone you truly look up to in your life and why?

โœ๏ธ Write down 5 pivotal moments in your life so far, and write a short explanation of how theyโ€™re important.

๐Ÿ’ฆ When was the last time you happy cried at a movie? Which movie was it? What was happening in the movie?

๐Ÿป What is your favourite animal and why? I know this is a simple question but I think it tells a lot about a person ๐Ÿ˜Š

โฐ If you had a stopwatch that could freeze time, what would you do with it?

๐Ÿ’ƒ If you could learn any skill instantly what would it be?

๐ŸŒˆ This is a first thought exercise, there are no wrong answers… What is the first thought that comes to your mind when you see the colour yellow?

๐ŸŒฑ What is your first thought when you think of the smell of fresh cut grass?

โ›ˆ What is your first thought when you think of a thunder storm? This could be a memory, or even something like a scene from a movie.

๐ŸŽ„ What was your favourite holiday growing up? Do you still love the holidays as much now?

๐Ÿ• What was your favourite childhood pet growing up? Can you recall a favourite adventure with your past pal?

๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผ If you have a sibling, what is your favourite memory of them growing up?

๐Ÿ“– Do you remember your first book you read as a child? Or your favourite memory of a book that was read to you?

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป What little habit would you like to work on for yourself? Write down 5 action steps you can work on every day this week.

๐Ÿ—บ If you had the chance to re-write history once, what change would you make? This can literally be anything you want.

I hope these questions inspire you to start writing in a journal , or even jot down your thoughts on a napkin. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Travel Tips You May Not Know…

Hello everyone!

Over the last 6 months, Iโ€™ve become a bit of a master traveller in the short term category. I guess a master commuter is a better term? Traveller sounds more catchy haha!

I wanted to share some tips and tricks Iโ€™ve learned while commuting every week the last 6 months. It feels crazy to say Iโ€™ve been in school for 6 months which means Iโ€™m halfway through my course! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

We are just starting makeup for Film and Television and itโ€™s been an absolute blast so far. We learned how to stipple on beards and I realized how much I do look like my brother. ๐Ÿ˜‚

On to my first tip, and for me itโ€™s a huge one because I CANNOT travel without music or I will go insane.

1) Set a reminder/alarm on your phone or device to charge your iPod/iPhone and pack your headphones ahead of time. Usually, if I know Iโ€™m going to be running out the door in a hurry I will do this just in case. I always set it for a good amount of time before I leave, usually in the morning or early noon. Thereโ€™s nothing worse than getting out the door with no headphones or having 2% battery on your phone. (Also if you were super adamant on not forgetting your headphones, have a spare pair that never leaves your purse) I also charge my portable battery at the same time as my phone as a backup. I just have a cheap Duracell one but it works in a pinch!

2) Bring water and Snacks.ย  This is another thing to pack ahead of time. Every time Iโ€™ve thought โ€˜No itโ€™s too heavy Iโ€™m not bringing snacksโ€™, Iโ€™ve regretted it so fast because there I am, stomach rumbling on the bus or ferry. My favourite quick snacks are nuts, granola bars, and some chocolate. Basically, things that wonโ€™t squish easy and provide quick energy.

3) Plan ahead the best spot for your bus/train fare. I travel to Vancouver every week as some of you may know and the transit system is pretty awesome. (I know some will say different but for a small town gal like me itโ€™s really good) We use Compass Cards, and I hate that last minute feeling of racing to the bus and racing to find my card.

4) Go for the stylish AND comfortable travel bag.ย I used to make rather inconvenient travel bag choices until I invested in my dream backpack. Its equal parts comfortable to wear has SO many pockets and is super fashionable. I got mine from Forever 21 (no shock there hehe) and its been all over B.C and to L.A so it’s definitely held up!

5) Invest in some handy Apps…ย It doesn’t take any money at all to have super handy apps on your phone. The #1 app I use is the Bus Tracker app. I think every city probably has its own version. I hate running to the bus stop only to figure out I missed it and the next one is 15 mins away. Basically, this app tells you which buses go to that stop and exactly when the bus will be there and even when the next 3 will arrive.

6) Last but not least… Investing in a couple gadgets can go a long way. For me my favourite gadget is my phone clip. I hate holding my phone for fear that someone could snatch it easy, but if it’s away I can’t, well, use it. That’s when I realized Otterbox gave me a phone clip with my case. I’ve been using it ever since and it’s changed my transit routine. I clip it to my waistline and I can have my hands free and tuck my shirt over to hide it if I need to. It makes listening to music while I walk so much more enjoyable! The other is a simple lanyard or extendable strap for your transit card (my friend from school inspired this one โ˜๏ธ) Another amazing way to keep your hands free and your transit card safe and secure.

I hope this tips have been handy for you! I felt the need to share my knowledge ๐Ÿ˜‚

My Week In Instagram Photos ๐Ÿ’•

So many festive feels this week! โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ„

I know this is my second Instagram post in a row, I promise I have new amazing content coming soon! ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’• thank you for sticking through this dry spell!

If anyone is wondering my Instagram handle is missm_w, and I just post a lot of flat lays and fashion, all of it is my own photography ๐Ÿ“ท

I’d love to follow everyone from here so leave a comment and let me know you’re from WordPress! I’ll follow you back! I’m very new to the whole Instagram blogging thing so I want to get caught up! ๐Ÿ˜

Also that is indeed the Lush 12 Days of Christmas gift box ๐ŸŽ and yes a review will be coming soon for it! ๐ŸŽ‰

How is your week going so far?

Fun question of the week: My brother thinks you should wait until December 1st before you drink any eggnog or listen to Christmas music. Do you agree?

(I’m on the opposing side since I’ve already been listening to Christmas music a bit and had eggnog :p)

Stormy Sunday Outfit Of the Day โ˜”๏ธ

Hello loves!

I was greeted with blustery weather today and did not want to leave bed! ๐Ÿ’ค

However, one heroic mug of coffee later and here I am!

Excuse my chippy polish, I’m very overdue for a manicure!

On days like this I giggle because I feel like I roll out of bed, and then find an outfit that is as cozy as possible to feel like I’ve never left! Does anyone feel that way?

To start, I’ve been living in my chunky knit sweater from Forever 21. It’s slightly cropped but still long enough to cover the stomach and feel cozy.

Next I am loving my fingerless gloves! As always if you’re a photographer, or anything that requires nimble fingers these gloves are the way to go.

Lastly are a few items that are my makeup favourites.

The e.l.f lipstick in the shade ‘Praline’. The perfect cool tone nude.

E.l.f eyeshadow trio in ‘Brown Bonanza’.

Last but not least my Matt and Nat wallet, and some cute 90’s-ish palm tree beaded earrings.

Have a fabulous Sunday everyone and I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Disappointing Drugstore Products…

Hello loves!

Anyone who knows me, is aware that I try to be a very positive person. I try to find the up side in everything, and stay away from negativity.

That is one of the big reasons I have avoided doing any blog posts like this, but I have realized as a writer and an avid beauty lover sometimes you have to share a little critique.

Yes, I have made a list of what I consider disappointing beauty products. Now I understand all our opinions and experiences may different , so I want to state this is merely my opinion and what I like/dislike will differ from what others think. ๐Ÿ™‚

(I laughed as I was taking the following pictures because I felt like I was taking mugshots of all the products ๐Ÿ˜‚)

<<<<
irst disappointment really hit hard with the Physicians Formula 'Glow and Mood Boosting Blush. I had heard so many rave reviews about this brand so I thought I would try them out. I feel like I got very sucked into the hype with this product. Along with the blush I bought a Pearl Highlighter, which I have given away due to my dislike towards that product as well. From first swatch this blush had no pigmentation to it. I decided to use my brush and try it on my cheeks. It took forever to get any colour pay off, and on top of that, by the second time I went to use it, it had this weird layer on it that made it impossible to get any product out. I tried scraping it with a eyebrow brush to get it off but it continued to 'crust over' no matter what I did. I am willing to give Physicians Formula another try, but I need some great recommendations before I spend any more dollars on their products.

๐Ÿ’€ The next product was another hype I got seriously sucked into, and that was the Katy Kat Matte lipsticks by Katy Perry. This was another product I was disappointed by the first swatch. I have tried far better matte lipsticks for way cheaper too. At first swatch, I thought it was the weirdest matte lipstick I had ever tried. It wasn't matte at all, it was more of a gritty lipstick. While the colour is beautiful, the lipstick goes on so patchy it's impossible to appreciate the colour. Along with that, when it finally dries out matte, it has gunked up in the corners of my mouth and the middle of my lips.

๐Ÿ’€ Next is the Marcelle 'Flawless Skin Fusion Concealer'. When I bought this I was looking for a great under eye, semi full coverage concealer. I was thinking, if I buy a pricier drugstore Concealer, it only makes sense it would be better quality right? No. What I got was not that at all. The name 'Skin Fusion' lead me to believe it would blend in nicely with my skin. That wasn't the case. I applied the product in my problem areas and began blending. To my surprise, by the time I had began blending the concealer had already oxidized and stared to dry on my skin, leaving a weird outline where I applied it. On top of that, as you can see in the picture it has started to separate, and it hasn't been long from the last time I used it (which was yesterday afternoon) I have never seen a concealer do that before. On the bright side I have found it is ok for carving out a cut crease, and will strictly use it for such. I am definitely sticking to good ol Maybelline Fit Me concealer.

๐Ÿ’€ Next up is another popular product that I know not everyone will agree with me on. It is the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. I will keep it short by saying it's just way to chunky and thick of a mascara for me. I know some people love wearing thick mascara, but after the first time I tried to wash this off, I knew I wouldn't like it. I love having thick lashes, but this crumbled off the brush every time I used it, falling in my eyes and all over my face. Perhaps I got a bad batch? (Is that possible lol?) I know that Zoe Sugg swears by it, but as much as she is my hero, I just can't bring myself to like it.

๐Ÿ’€ Lastly, and most surprisingly is a NYX product. I know I've probably said before that I've never found a NYX product I don't like…well I take it back. This is the NYX Colour Correcting Concealer palette. I was very intrigued by the concept of colour correction. I personally have lots of redness on my face and have always tried to combat that. When I used this palette I was waiting to see the difference in my foundation, but ended up being so disappointed… and slightly green. The Concealer itself does not blend out well. It doesn't sink into the skin, but sits on top of it. Along with the patchiness of it, it is a very greasy concealer as well, making me look even worse in my T-Zone. I kept this palette for my FX makeup (hence why all the green is gone) thinking the colours could make a good base for Special FX bruising.

So that is is! My blacklist items…. I'm only kidding! These personally did not work for me at all, but I'd like to hear if you've tried any of these and what you think of them!

Cheers!

April Favorites!

Hello Hello! ๐Ÿ™‚

How are we all doing on this lovely day?

It feels like it was only last week that I was doing my March favorites. Where on earth is the time going?

Aprilย was a particularly good month for the MissM blog. Lots of trying new makeup, and Spring and Summer always seem to give me an energy burst, thus inspiring me to step up my game. A definite theme this month was fun in the sun. Bright colors, sun and fresh face skincare. I felt energized and happy. All that Vitamin D from the sunshine must have really kicked things into gear! I hope everyone has been catching some rays too ๐Ÿ˜›

The Maybelline Color Tattoo pots have rekindled my love for eye shadow. ย Or unbridled an obsession! Still deciding ;P

Biore Charcoal Strips

Glow by J-Lo

Vichy Aqua Thermal Boosting Essence water

Clarins Paris After Sun Care

Maybelline Brow Drama Brow Gel

Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer

Maybelline Color Tattoo Cream Gel

Benefit They’re Real! Mascaraย (disclaimer: the one I have is a sample size, hence the reason it looks like it could be from Honey I Shrunk The Kids)

If I had to pick a stand out product this month it would have to be the Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eye shadows. They are so easy to use, and they blend like a dream. For a product you can get from the drugstore they give some of my high end eye shadow a run for its money :p
They even make an awesome base for your eye shadow, and I find myself reaching for them more than my actual eye shadow at the moment.

I hope everyone is enjoying the first gasps of summer (and wearing lors if sunscreen) and thank you as usual for reading! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yoga for the working gal, and lads

Hello lovely people!

How is everyone enjoying their day? Very good I hope! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a fun blog post today, revolving around one of my recent, not so recent hobbies. That hobby would be Yoga! As you may already know I am an avid runner, and generally hit the trails on my workout days. As of recent I noticed myself growing g a little bored of my runs. Not to mention, after working on my feet all day, my legs were telling me ‘hell no’.

That’s when I decided to pull out the yoga mat. The big difference is that when I’m doing yoga is, its much easier on my feet and knees, which are typically my weak spots after work. If fact, as I sat there it seemed every inch of my legs were a weak spot. Stiff and achy I devised a set of stretches, easy enough to do them after work, and anywhere at all.

Whether you work siting down, or are on your feet for the 8 hours of the day, these stretches are a sure fire way to help say ‘sayonara ‘ to stiff legs. And if this post is a hit I can continue on with any other stretches! ๐Ÿ™‚

Just as a little disclaimer, I am not a Yoga expert or anything, just a lover of it. And if any of these poses may seem too difficult or anything, know your bodies limit and stay within it โค

Also, I have no idea if these have real names or not, so bare with me.

#1.

IMG_1276

Start sitting cross legged on your mat or pillow. Carefully place your feet together meeting up your heels and ball of your feel. You will begin to feel a stretch in your groin and inner thigh. You may gently press down on your legs for a more intense stretch, or just use the weight of your legs.

#2

IMG_1280

This was my most favorite stretch, courtesy of when I used to kick box. At the beginning of the class we always were led in a series of stretches and I always loved when we got to this one. So, Starting in a plank position, bring forward your right/left leg (whichever one you want to stretch first) and lower it close to the ground, almost kneeling. Carefully sink back until you feel a stretch in your Quadriceps. This will feel like it is stretching the front half of your thigh. It is alright if you cannot sink as low, or if you sink lower than good for you!

#3

IMG_1284

This next pose is pretty straight forward. Sitting with your legs together in front of you, move your fingers forward to touch your toes. By no means do you actually have to touch your toes. As you can see, I was quite stiff and could barely touch mine ๐Ÿ˜› By the end though, after short breaks I could. It is a good idea to start where you can touch, and ease slowly into the stretch.

#4IMG_1285

This is pretty much the same stretch, just isolating each leg for an individual stretch. I’m sure we’ve all done this stretch at some point in our life, it is a very popular one for good reason! I like to do it then come back to touching both my toes, to see how much farther I can reach ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_1291

Last, and certainly my favorite after a long day is the corpse pose. Why is this the only name I can actually remember? Probably because its the most literal ๐Ÿ˜› I don’t think a whole lot of instruction is needed for this one. Lying on your back with your hands facing up (my own boo boo), breathe deep and clear your mind. Stay in this pose for as long as needed. Hey, have a nap if that’s what you need. The key to this pose is to unwind.

I hope this has helped, and/or inspired anyone today! Thank you for reading as usual, and let me know if you like seeing these kinds of posts on my blog!

Ciao!

March Favorites!

Hello lovely people and welcome to my March favorites! I must admit I am impressed with myself getting this uploaded within the first week of April, rather than the first few weeks. Don’t mind me as I pat myself on the back just a little haha. Must get better at this whole organization thing.

Alright, let’s cut the faffing about and get right into it!

March faves

💋My first favorite is a lush product. I know, shocker *sarcasm*, and it is the ‘Bunch o Carrots’ reusable bubble bars. These delightful little bars are by far one of my favorite lush scents ever. They are fruity and sweet, but also light. I bought them a week before easter, and I still have all of them. They give off amazing bubbles just by running them under water, so they last forever!

💋 NYX Matte liquid foundation. This was a purchase that I was on the fence about. I’m sure we all know the difficulty of picking a drugstore foundation. I do not live anywhere near ‘higher quality’ makup stores, so I’ve become quite an expert (sorta) at perusing through drugstore makup and finding the best formulas possible. This is by far my new favorite drugstore foundation! I realized my last foundation was almost just a teeny bit too dark. My skin tone tends to waver on the cusp of two tones and this foundation is the right one for now since I’m much paler after winter. My other foundation will be great for when I get more sun (which should be soon :p)
Getting back to my point, this foundation is high coverage, but still looks good just using a little, and can still be layered. Five stars and I’ve actually been using it almost every day. Big wow!

💋Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer.
I bought this because one of my favorite YouTubers (Tanya Burr) used it in a recent tutorial, so I put some faith in her and was not disappointed in the slightest. In fact this may just bump the Wake Me Up concealer out of the #1 spot. Sorry Wake Me Up, its time to step aside 😂
The Match Perfection is both a concealer and a highlighter. I use this on those particular early mornings to help look…well a little more ‘alive’ let’s just say. It blends like a dream, and I haven’t had any problems with creasing, as well as it lasting through out the day.

💋 Bath and Body Works, Tahiti Island Dream body mist. There’s not much to say about this besides the fact that I love this scent. Its like fresh tropical air, condensed, and I just want to spray it everywhere and smell it forever. :p

💋 Loreal Paris Brow Stylist Definer. When I bought this product it was more out of curiosity than actual necessity. I always found brow pencils to be very rough to apply, and once you finally get into apply, it somehow ends up too dark. However this has restored my faith in the brow pencil. Its a softer pencil and the pencil itself is very thin making it so easy to define your brows however you like them. I have heard from many people it is a perfect dupe for the Brow Whiz by Anastasia Beverly hills, bit I’ve not tried that product, so I cannot vouch for that, but maybe any of you can? Let me know in the comments ๐Ÿ™‚

💋 Revlon ‘Just Bitten’ Kissable lip balm stain, in the color 040 Rendezvous. Since spring is here I’ve delved into more orange shades of lipsticks and thud has come out on top as my favorite! The color makes me feel so bright and springy, and it also has incredible moisturizing properties. It has the color hold of a lip stain, but is lip friendly like a lip balm. It is also a really refreshing peppermint scent, and adds a cooling sensation to the lips.

💋NYX Xtreme Lipcream in ‘CandyLand’. This is one of the cutest colors I have ever worn. The perfect baby pink liquid lipstick. It has the hold of a liquid lipstick and the shine of a lip gloss. And that makes me one happy gal!

💋Bath and Body Hand sanitizer in Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla. This is a very funny favorite to me, however there is a cold sweeping through my town so I tend to obsess over having clean hands. This does exactly that. It has been living in my purse, not to mention it smells like some freaking amazing cookies.

So this is all of my favorites of March! When I started to make my list in the beginning I thought to myself ‘I don’t really have that many new favorites’, but like usual as I looked through my makeup bag and purse, I remembered all the products I’ve been casually obsessing over hehe.

So I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you have been loving any of the same products, or what your favorites are! I love to hear from everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚

I always like doing these kinds of posts because a lot of the products I enjoy are very affordable and usually from the drugstore. I just remember/know what it’s like being interested in makeup, but feeling so out of your league as where to start. And I know what its like to nervously look through the aisles and aisles of products hoping you buy something good. So any help that I may be able to provide makes me happy!

As usual, I hope you’re enjoying your day! Thanks for reading!

Unreal Banana Pancakes!

Hello hello hello!

How is everyone on this beautiful Tuesday afternoon?

I am wonderful today, I can tell you that! I started my day off right with a delicious, but also ‘flukey’ breakfast, and I am here to tell you how I achieved that, leaving out the parts that are to do with my lack of preparation and shopping skills ๐Ÿ˜›

If it wasn’t already apparent, pancakes are my favorite ‘go to’ breakfastย when I have a day off, and enough time in her morning to putter and really put a lot of effort into my cooking.

As you can imagine I was off to the races this morning, boyfriend by my side pulling out all the fixings for pancakes that I had promised to make. Things were looking good until I got to the eggs. Or rather, the lack of them. I had zero eggs in my fridge, and a damper on the morning. I was close to giving up on my pancake-y dream when I had a swell idea.

Time to substitute! I remembered something a friend of mine told me about making pancakes just out of banana and a bit of egg. While I obviously didn’t have the egg, I devised a recipe that worked out to be delicious!

  • 1 moderately ripe banana
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1/4 cup vanilla or plain yogurt
  • milk (you can add as much or as little, until you get the right consistency)

Other good stuff you can add would be nutmeg, or cinnamon, both go super with bananas.

Mash your banana with a fork very well; you can decide for lumpy bananas or smooth. I decided to mix mine quite well because I wanted it to mimic the texture of an egg.

After you add the yogurt and flour, add in your milk and give it all a good whisk together. These pancakes are more like crepes, considering how flat they are.

IMG_1223IMG_1220IMG_1221

Because the banana and yogurt have a bit of sugar the pancakes will brown a bit more than your regular ol pancakes, but the flavor is still wonderful and they do not taste burnt at all.

To top it off, simply add a mix of your favorite berries in a sauce pan on medium heat to make your own delicious berry toppings!

In addition to the pancakes I had a couple yummy breakfast links because why not ๐Ÿ˜›

Hope you have a delightful day and thank you for reading! โค

Saturday Adventures!

Every once and a while a day comes along and produces an enchanting phenomenon. It has no name, but the effects of it are enough to cleanse the spirit, and invigorate the soul. That experience can only be described as spontaneous adventure. You haven’t created any expectations, and when you here the words “Hey, wanna do *blank*”, “oh, sure”, “Alright we’re doing it!”, some sort of endorphin rush happens in the brain. The curiosity of adventuring into the unknown, or just simply treating yourself to something you’ve always wanted are two examples that make that feeling so vivid.

The freshness of the unknown open you up and really make you expand your mind and forces you to grow. In a nice way though.
As a person who has dealt with anxiety in the past (and still something I work towards beating to this day) I live a pretty structured life. I go to bed at a certain time, like to do all my work before I can rest, and only can eat sweets of I have a good show set up. The last one might be more of a funny habit that an example, but I think my point is made.
I crave the unknown, spontaneity that is life. And I definitely got my dose of it last weekend. I do believe I am good for a little while now, but will keep taking small doses regularly. :p

Anyway, end tangent here,

So, when I was asked “Wanna go to Whistler?” 95% of the brain (and mouth ) yelled ‘heck ya!’, whilst the tiny ‘small towny’ part of my brain stammered “C-can we do that?”.

So anyway off we went, bombing along in a silver Volkswagen, and endless possibilities in our minds. We were truly the staple of young freedom.

image

image

First stop was the Gondola! Completely unscheduled, and part of my friends bucket list, we pulled into the parking lot and audibly gawked at the cables reaching into the sky and past our visibility.
We purchased our tickets (not before a funny yet slightly embarrassing incident going to the wrong teller) and waited in line to ride up a tiny box on a string. Only kidding.

image

Goodbye ground and parking lot!
Up, up and away! We giggled scooted around taking pictures and videos. This was something I had never experienced. Surprisingly I had no fear of heights, but a strong gust of wind wobbled our gondola and we both froze bug eyed, then continued laughing at the look on our faces.

As the gondola just about claimed over the peak we were slightly shocked by what we saw. Snow, snow, and more snow. Its seemed we had forgot that it was still winter in some places in B.C. We were wildly underdressed, but it just didn’t matter. If anything it just added to the hilarity and wonder of the day.

image

I was wearing my Toms, and she was wearing sandals. We slip slided our way through the snow and caught sight of another thing to check off our bucket list. The suspension bridge.

image

image

We both cautiously stepped foot into the bridge, (Slight nervousness of heights kicked in for both of us) and chilred ran ahead of us bouncing the bring up and down, producing a loud sqeal from us.

We began joking as we crossed the bridge (many Shrek references were thrown around humorously), trying to distract us from the hundred foot ect, drop below. We finally got to the other side, only kissing the ground a little bit.

Somehow the hilarity of our inappropriate footwear just added to the fun of the day. I wouldn’t have changed it for anything! Some of the best memories made were our eyes turning to saucers as we saw the snow getting off the gondola, and laugh-snorting as we sent our mum’s and friends pictures and videos of us in our silly attire.

The rest of the day was spent grabbing lunch in Whistler at the Spaghetti Factory, and doing a cheeky bit of shopping at Lush and buying shoes.

Casual smooth chatting, mixed with the music thudding in the car speakers on the way back to the ferry was the perfect way to end our day. We talked about everything from our favorite old cartoons to our family.

Even as I sat waiting from the ferry, all the way driving home droopy eyed with exhaustion, a smile was permanently stretched on my face.

A+ day!
