Cure for the Common Season

Sometimes there is no better day than a ‘nothing day’. Simply a day where you don’t have any particular binding plans or regimes, and you just do what you want when you want. For me these usually occur on a rainy day, making it much easier to drift around and get things done, without really getting too much done.

My favorite thing in the world is to put on Frank Sinatra or Michael Bublé, and let the creativity flow! The soulful sounds surround me throughout the day, and keep me from feeling guilty about not doing enough.

A quick walk down the trail with my pup always livens me up, filling my lungs with the crisp fall air.
I pick up stray leaves that scatter the forest floor so when I get home I can make an autumnal centerpiece for my living room table.

By the time I arrive home I am always ready for tea time. With my favorite mug if maple spice tea I’m ready to settle in for the night.
Since its so close to fall I’ve been watching my way through all of the f.r.i.e.n.d.s thanksgiving and Halloween episodes.
Its slightly nostalgic for me, since I remember watching the show with my parents as a young kid. It always got me excited for the season, and hoping I would have big dinners like that with my friends some day.

I love ending the day in front of the fireplace. My toes keeping toasty and my big pooch sprawled on the flood. So relaxed it almost looks as if the fire has melted her to a puddle of good.
Life is good on a ‘nothing day’.
