My Week in Instagram Pics

Hello everyone! 😘

A picture can say a thousand worlds…. excuse for that cliche haha. But really, these picture posts are one of my absolute favourites to do, so if you’re not interested in seeing a bit more into my life this may not be your jam. However if you like looking at random aesthetically pleasing pictures, you’re in the right place!

~ Sunday to Sunday ~

I think because it’s been such a dreadful week weather wise, getting to work on something like photography has really brightened it up! Whether it’s my best camera being used, or a quick outfit snap I’ve been really loving it. I hope you enjoy this little post too. Not all of the pictures are brand new, like I said Instagram is fairly new to me on the blogging front.

Anyhoo happy Monday Munchkins! πŸ˜›

Let me know if you like seeing these posts πŸ™‚

My instagram handle is missm_w if anyone is interested πŸ˜„

What’s In My Handbag?

Do people still do these blog posts? Seems they were all the rage a few years ago, and I still love reading and watching people do them!

Something about getting a glimpse into what really is an everyday necessity for the beauty gurus of the internet is so darn interesting. Maybe I’m just nosey? Who knows!

For starters I’ll share with you what my purse looks like πŸ‘œ (I am giggling now because I realize my purse looks very similar to the purse emoji πŸ˜‚)

See? Now you see it too!

Anyhoo, it’s a David Jones Bag and it was a Christmas gift about 2 years ago. Also I’m not a designer savvy person, so I have no idea the value, I just love the bag.

To go with the bag is a rather funny story. My brother was the one who bought it for Christmas, and originally gave it to my mum. For me he got a nice shoulder bag, very pretty and dainty. However, as Christmas Day went on, mum and I had realized we were secretly eyeing up each others bags and decided to switch. Of course we asked to make sure it was ok and boom! Here we are 2 years later, still so in love with the design and everything! It also comes with a shoulder strap but I tend to cram it so full of stuff it’s too heavy for my shoulder.

Onto the good stuff!

As you can see I basically carry a back up for anything that might happen during the day.

~My planner/ calendar in case I need to save a date or write down an idea. I am VERY good at forgetting dates and numbers so this is my lifeline.

~ Fingerless mittens, because I like my hands warm but let’s be real, it’s impossible to really do anything with mittens on.

~ Deodorant (because even the best of us need a freshen up sometimes)

~ Also a small rollerball perfume, which is perfect for a handbag because no accidental spritzing will happen. Mine is by Sarah Jessica Parker and it’s called ‘Lovely’.

~ Hair pins/ ties. I have a million of them and I use all million of them.

~ Makeup. I always have at least 3 lipsticks for some reason, as well as coverup for touch ups, and powder to stop that shine, and a dense powder brush.

~Hand sanitizer.

~ Advil. This might be an odd one but as someone with very terrible cramps, and a weird tendency to get headaches I’ve learned to never leave the house without it. Plus Its nice to come to someones rescue if they need one.

~ Headphones. 2 pairs to be exact because apple just HAD to change the headphone jack on the iPhone. I’m not bitter or anything…

~ My iPod nano. To me there’s nothing worse that A. Waiting somewhere with no music, or B. Being stuck with the radio in a car. Gotta have your tunes!

~ My wallet by Matt and Nat. It’s cream and rose gold so I had to get it. Lasted me 3 years and going strong! I literally just use this to carry my debit card, license and the plethora of points cards I insist I need.

~Chapstick/lip balm. I am actually impressed there was only one in my bag this time, usually I have about 20.

~Lastly my glasses + case. The biggest sign that I was finally an adult was when I realized the importance of a case for your glasses. Whether I want to swap from contacts to glasses or the other way around I can’t leave home without both.

I am just realizing now that I forgot my iPhone in this picture but usually my iPhone is firmly planted where I %100 know where it is, in my pocket or in my hand lol. Ive had a phone stolen from me and it’s the worst feeling in the world.

Thanks s always for stopping by! HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!

Springy Outfit of the Day!

Hello lovely people!

I hope I am not the only one out there desperately wishing for spring to arrive. Every flower bed I see, I am gazing hopefully in, looking for something to sprout up , and hoping to see just as many florals in the shop windows soon!

We have been having a particularly good week in B.C for sunshine, which is beyond a miracle to be honest. As soon as that sun was shining I was out there, happily soaking up the Vitamin D!
Just as quickly , I was styling myself more ‘springy’ and ‘fresh’.

I decided to wear one of my most favorite spring/summer shirts from Urban planet, paired with a small tank top from one our locally owned shops called ‘Swish’. My beautiful corduroy pants also are from the same shop, courtesy of my Mum’s fantastic taste ❀ Its hard to tell, but the corduroy pants are stylishly high wasted, but comfortable as heck with an elastic waist band.

My boots were bought at Hudson’s bay. Not any particular fancy brand. It was one of those buys where you just needed to get into a different pair of shoes at the time, and thus ended up loving them regardless. They are my go to boots for everything. They automatically fix the ‘what’s missing from my outfit problem’ I sometimes have.

On top of it all I’m wearing my favorite (and most complimented ;p) jacket that I own. Its a purple and black (fake)leather with spandex embellishing on the elbows (making it note flexible and comfy than your average leather jacket.) Its one of my pride and joys of my wardrobe I’ve had for years.
Its made by Vero Moda, and its the perfect jacket to dress up or down.

And by far, the most sentimental piece of my outfit is the beautiful green surrong my amazing boyfriend gifted to me the first summer we started going out. 💚
Its adorably decorated with geccos, and when I’m not using it as a scarf in the winder, I’m prancing around on the beach with it as a dress!

I hope it has been beautiful and lovely for everyone, wherever you live!
As usual, thanks for reading! Talk to you all again soon! πŸ™‚

Super Granola Pancakes

Hello lovelies!
How is February treating everyone? Fabulous I hope!

I come bearing another super pancake recipe for all my pancake loving amigos out there! (Let’s be honest the majority of the world loves pancakes in some way.)

I had one of those mornings recently where I just couldn’t decide between a quick ‘shovel it in’ type of breakfast, or a very care taken meal. So I took the best of both worlds in both of those categories. That would be: granola and pancakes. Put them together and what do you get? Granola cakes!

You will need:
β€’1 cup flour
β€’1/4 cup instant oats (soaked in hot water, then water drained)
β€’1 teaspoon baking powder
β€’1 egg
β€’Milk (add until right consistency)
β€’A good hand full of crasins, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and any other scrumptious things you can think of. πŸ™‚
β€’A dash of nutmeg and cinnamon
β€’a pinch of salt

Have a skillet or frying pan on medium heat, and coat with a splash of coconut oil. (Make sure that it isn’t so hot that the oil will smoke. Just hot enough to sizzle when water splashed on it.)

I will always start with a cup of milk to begin with, but add more later to get the batter to the right consistency.
Begin to mix your milk and your egg together. I always mix them in a measuring glass, but I have no idea if that is proper cooking etiquette or not 😂

Next in a separate bowl sift together all your dry ingredients. Sifting is not a necessary step, but it will make the batter more even, and chances of any lumps way less.

Once all the dry ingredients are mixed together you can pour in the wet mix slowly, stirring constantly to make sure it mixes evenly. Then add your quick oats. Once mixed this is where you have to work quickly to add your seeds and cranberries not stirring too much as you don’t want to over mix, and deactivate the baking soda.

In fact, a good tip would be to prep them ahead of time or have them in your dry ingredient bowl before mixing.

I always save a little of the nuts and seeds to sprinkle on top and create a lovely pattern.

Now you can drop your batter into the pan and voila! You’re cooking some wicked pancakes! Be sure to cook until lightly brown on each side and enjoy!

I also chose to have a tiny bit of mocha yoghurt on the side! 😜

As always thamk you for reading and I hope you are having a lovely Tuesday!

January Favorites!

Hello lovely individuals! Happy February to everyone out there! I don’t know you you, but I couldn’t be happier to say hello to February and the spring months that will be following along shortly.
I wanted to try something new. This happens to be something I am recently addicted to, and that is watching Monthly Favorite videos on YouTube! I cannot get enough of learning about the different products and fashions my favorite YouTubers are loving!
So I thought I would try the same thing on my blog!

So, without any further ado, these are my January favorites!

Jan faves 1

❀ To kick things off my first favorite is my Instax 8 Polaroid camera. This little camera has seen me through all of my favorite joyous occasions. It is so fun to snap a picture in the height of excitement, and wave it around, waiting eagerly for it to develop! It helped make New Years Eve a night to remember!

❀ Real Techniques Brushes. These are my favorite brushes at the moment. I use them for foundation, blush, bronzer, you name it. They are there like your best friend. Not to mention they are incredibly soft.

❀ Kate Moss, Rimmel London Nude Lipsticks in #43, and #40. These lipsticks are like a magic act. They go with a dressed up look, they go with a natural look, just spot on every time. They really are the cure to my Red Christmas lips blues I’ve been having.

❀ Loreal Sublime Radiance cleansing oil. Okay, let me tell you about this little miracle worker. When I first bought this product, I failed to read the instructions on it, and missed out on its true potential. At first I used it on cotton pads to remove my make up and thought : ‘good grief I am using up a lot of cotton pads’. Little did I know you were supposed to put it straight onto your face and use it like a cleanser. Once that was discovered, I have been in heaven. It takes off every last bit of makeup, yes, even waterproof. And I also find it helps my dry, semi-oily skin. 10/10!

❀ These crazy elastics! I found them at Pharmasave (local drug store). I’m not sure they even have a name but you can most definitely find spin off of them everywhere. Yes they look nutty, but they also work like a dream. As someone with ridiculously thick hair, this is the answer to my prayers. No fist fulls of my hair taking them out, no tangles, and hey, you look super cute and 90’s wearing them πŸ™‚

❀ Essie Nail Polish in ‘Go Ginza’, and H&M Polish in ‘Hunt Me Down’. Both are pastel colors but on opposite ends of the spectrum. They are splendid colors to wear between the last winter months and spring in my opinion!

❀ Rimmel Lasting perfection Foundation. Originally I went into the drugstore looking for a completely different foundation (Rimmel Wake Me Up), but happened upon this product instead. I tried it and I fell in love! Initially what persuaded me to make the switch was the matte look it had in comparison to the Wake Me Up,(which visibly had sparkes in it). A good look for the summer when I want glowy skin, but maybe not for the end of winter. Perhaps in the warmer months I will give it a try! πŸ˜›

❀ Zoella Blissful Mistful body spray. It is not often I find a body spray and think “Wowzers, I love this scent, I want to wear this everyday and nothing else.” Which is the exact scenario that is happening. It is so light and fresh smelling. I do not feel like I’m drowning in the scent, but It’s like being surrounded by a lovely fresh, but light floral aura.

(Oooh fancy set change :P)

❀ NYX Beauty On The Go Palette. This particular color palette has been the MVP of my makeup collection this month. I am yet to find a color I don’t love or look great in! It is a mixture of eye shadows, blush, bronzer, contour, highlight and lipstick. Yes, ALL of that in one palette. Even the shades for contouring that are way too dark for my skin tone just happen to go perfectly with my brows. It is a glorious mix of matte colors, and shimmery ones. some days I use all the nude tones, and other days I use a bright green (just to give an idea of the color variation.)

❀ Bath And Body Works candle, scented Sweater Weather. Oh boy, I wish I could describe properly through typing just how good this candle smells. The only way to describe it is a mix of fresh air, aftershave (good smelling stuff), and fresh leaves. You are probably thinking “Okay lady, you have a crazy nose”, but I would urge you to give it a sniff if its still in stores! It is technically an autumn scented candle, but I’ve been sparingly burning my little sampler candle of it.

❀ NYX Matte Lipstick in Merlot. I can sense a pattern of NYX products here… Definitely not on purpose I promise! I just cannot get enough of the awesome color that is this lipstick! To get a better idea of what it looks like on you can check out my bronze makeup look I did a while ago. It goes on nicely, and does not bleed like some lipsticks. A great lipstick that stays put!

❀ Lush ‘No Drought’ Dry Shampoo. All I have is positive reviews as usual for this Lush product. I’ve been on the hunt for a good dry shampoo, but been very discouraged since 99% of drugstore dry shampoo’s come in aerosol cans. I am a firm believer of recycling and I could not stand to buy one more aerosol can, so you can imagine my joy when I saw the dry shampoo they had cam in a recycled plastic bottle, that could be recycled again. But anyway, enough with the politics! It smells amazing and applying it is so easy. The fresh citrus scent is my favorite, as well as my boyfriends, saying I smell like fruit loops.:P

❀ This is probably the funniest of my favorites. They are little slipper socks I bought from Marks Work Ware World. Its a store that mainly sells sport wear, clothing for outdoor work, and some men’s and woman’s fashion. I have a quirkier sense of style, thus making some of their stuff, just a little too bland for me. However I was pleasantly surprised when I found these little slippers there. I always have cold feet, but hate the feeling of sloppy slippers those it was a truly heroic discovery when I found these.

So these were my January favorites! It already feels like February has been flying by way too fast too! Let me know what you think of these kinds of posts! I realize this is one of my longest posts yet, wow! Would you like me to continue doing favorites? And what have you been loving in January? These are just my opinions, no one pays me to say anything πŸ˜›

As usual thank you for reading guys!

Another Lush Adventure 🐳

Hello lovely people!

Ooh a lush haul, didn’t see that one coming did ya?

Okay, you got me, I’m pretty easy to predict in some cases. It has been 3 months I do believe since my last Lush splurge, and that my friends, had just been way too long.

I am aware it seems a wee bit excessive, but the products last me that long so why the heck not? Plus I know all of us out there love to browse and read reviews on our favorite products so here you are!

I do note, that all of these products are new to me. None of them are a repeat buy and I think that is pretty cool!

January Lush Haul

Oooh, ahh. With the magic of editing I’ve made a very easy to follow chart of wonders!

And, I will list a link to each product at the bottom in case any pop out at you. Just to make it easier and I appreciate y’all so much!

After sniffing my way through the order I was able to identify my favorite scents right away. My top five were: Floating Island (yummy marshmallow scented), Milky Bar (a lovely mix of lavender and orange oil), Twilight (deliciously sweet candy), Karma (orange and patchouli), and lastly, Sex bomb (a sweet, yet floral scent).

This isn’t to say I did not like the other scents, these ones just honestly stuck out the most to me!

The product I am most excited to use honestly is the Golden Handshake hot hand mask. It makes a lot of wonderful promises of softness and moisturizing (hello holy grail), and I am very keen to get me some soft velvety hands.

I’ll be sure to have a wonderful review up as soon as I can!

Thank you again for your time!
