I know this is my second Instagram post in a row, I promise I have new amazing content coming soon! 💕💕💕 thank you for sticking through this dry spell!

If anyone is wondering my Instagram handle is missm_w, and I just post a lot of flat lays and fashion, all of it is my own photography 📷

I’d love to follow everyone from here so leave a comment and let me know you’re from WordPress! I’ll follow you back! I’m very new to the whole Instagram blogging thing so I want to get caught up! 😁

Also that is indeed the Lush 12 Days of Christmas gift box 🎁 and yes a review will be coming soon for it! 🎉

How is your week going so far?

Fun question of the week: My brother thinks you should wait until December 1st before you drink any eggnog or listen to Christmas music. Do you agree?

(I’m on the opposing side since I’ve already been listening to Christmas music a bit and had eggnog :p)

October Favourites

Hello everyone, I am back with a favourites post!

I know its been forever and a day since I’ve posted one so I was extra excited when I realized it was the first day of November, and thus I could begin collecting up all my favourite goodies of the month.

IMG_1397IMG_2376

I’m quite happy with this little variety of goodies!

To start I wanted to share with you a perfume I’ve loved since I was about 16 (and I am now 23) This is actually one of the first perfumes I was ever given and it is called Black XS For Her. Its by a brand called Paco Rabbane, and Its one of my top winter perfumes. For me it is almost impossible to describe the scent because it is so unique. I will say it is light, with a rose and musk undertone. I am so not a professional when it comes to describing smells so if you see it in stores I urge you to have a sniff and see for yourself. And this is my second bottle courtesy of my wonderful boyfriend.

Next is something from a recent haul and that is the Marilyn Hot Oil Treatment from Lush. Now I know this is something I bought at the end of October and only tried a few days ago, but I loved it so much I wanted to include it. The picture above is what it looks like in its naked packaging. Now for something that retails at $12.95 CAD I was not going to buy it at first glance. Thankfully one of the Lush staff came and spoke to me about it. He explained that what he did in order to make it last more uses, is he stores it in an old Lush pot and keeps it in a cool area. He then demonstrated how much it emulsifies and puffs up when you mix it. I was sold! Even better it is just as good as the original Marilyn hair treatment (and a fraction of the price). It leaves your hair naturally soft with no oily residues like some other conditioning treatments.

My third favourite is another hair product, and that is the Casting Sun kiss Healthy Look treatment. This is just like sunshine in a bottle…for your hair. Now the Marilyn hair treatment and this go together like peas and carrots because while the sun kiss adds beautiful sun kiss streaks and lightens your hair, its still a bit damaging. After using this, it gives me the look of having sunny streaks in my hair, even when the sun has been gone and cloudy for days.

Onto something that I’ve already talked about in the past, and that is the E.l.f Cosmetics Matte lipstick in the shade ‘Praline’. Now I had a very mixed review on this lipstick but have come to love it over time. While it’s not what I consider a true matte lipstick, this lipstick goes on and stays on. The colour is beautiful and I have no fear of it transferring on my teeth because it never does. Also the shade of it is beautiful, and what I call the perfect cool tone nude for fall and winter.

This favourite is definitely more of a splashy item. *Note this was a gift and I’m very fortunate to have had it given to me because ho boy these things aren’t cheap*

This is the Fit Bit Surge watch. I have really gotten into working out again and this watch has helped me track my workouts, track calories burned, steps, heart rate, anything that helps your overall fitness. It also has cool features when you can change your music from your watch instead of fumbling with your phone while running. I never thought I would get into fitness because it seemed so annoying to track all that but this little watch has made it so much easier. The only downside is the battery life. In my opinion it should last a lot longer than 3/4 days. 🤷🏼‍♀️

My last beauty item in a nail polish. I think this is the first time in history I’ve ever had a nail polish in my favourites before. I had come to that dilemma where Halloween was almost here but I was sick of wearing black/green/blue polish, and honestly I had Christmas and winter on the brain. This polish is by Essie, which is my go to brand for fast drying, long lasting, and relatively cheap polish. The colour I have is called Fifth Avenue, and I’m in love. For some reason I’m the photo it shows up more orange but in real life it’s the perfect bright cherry red!

My last 2 favourites are not objects but 2 Apps And a T.V show!

The first is the Fitbit App which goes hand and hand in the watch. It goes a step further to help you track water drinking, calories you’ve even, and sleep habits. It makes it so easy to track it all I quickly became obsessed with tracking all my fitness goals and reaching them.

The second App is called Clue. It’s the ultimate way to track every step of your period and predict (almost) precisely when you’ll have your next one and what it may be like. It’s super flexible and you track how you’re feeling no matter what day of the month. If you’re feeling a bit cramped or hormonal one day, you can track it, and it’ll let you know when your PMS starts the next month. And it tracks every symptom you can think of. It can even remind you to take your pill. I learned about this App from British Beauty Blogger/Youtuber Zoella. She is one of my top absolute favourites bloggers so I trusted her opinion on the App and was not disappointed in the slightest! 🙂

My last Favourites is a T.V show…can you guess? *drumroll*

STRANGER THINGS 2!

I binge watched this show like crazy. Who ever was the genius that had the idea to upload them all at the same time, I applaud you. This show is addictive and has a different twist on it than the last season. If you haven’t seen it, I’ll take the initiative and be the 5 millionth person to say WATCH IT! You wont regret it. I almost didn’t watch it because I thought it was going to be scary. Go. Watch. Now!

These were my favourites this month! I’d love to hear your feedback!

Happy Monday y’all! 🎉

Random Lush Haul

Hello everyone!

I have quite possibly the most random little Lush haul I’ve ever done! I was recently in Vancouver visiting my friend for Halloween, and before getting there my boyfriend and I stopped by a Lush shop to stock up on goodies. My boyfriend loves Lush just as much as I do so we always leave with at least a small bag. He loves the soaps and body washes, I always stock up on bath bombs and bubble bars, body wash…Okay maybe everything! 😛

As I said, we were in the city for Halloween and despite being way WAY too early I still had a little gander through the Christmas releases. Besides bath stuff, I love a good treat for my hair and was super keen on the Naked Products they’ve recently released.

Like I said I couldn’t resist the Christmas section. And while I still thing it’s too early to think about it, butterball is a favourite of mine, and a must have. So I got butter bear, because why have it in a regular shape when I could have it in a bear shape!

Next is Star Light Star Bright. I have a love for all things shiny and glittery so it’s no surprise I had to get this bath bomb/ melt. It’s fresh scent of ginger and lime is also my fave for relaxing and relieving stress.

My last bath bomb is once again a recurring fave for me and that’s Avobath! This is one of those bath bombs where your skin feels so good and soft when you get out you can’t believe your bath could do that. Once again it’s a fresh Lime scent and is very fresh and awakening.

Lastly is the Hot Oil Treatments in the formula Marilyn. The fellow at Lush who was helping completely sold this to me because A. It’s great for blonde hair (I tried the original formula and loved it) and B. He let me in on a little secret for how to make it last longer than one use (storing it in an old lush pot will keep it good for up to a month!) So it’s no doubt I got it! Marilyn is great for natural and coloured blondes because it gets rid of brassy tones and leaves your hair incredibly soft!

So this was my little random Lush haul! I couldn’t resist getting a few Christmas items along with my regular faves. I can’t wait until I can fully indulge in the Christmas range.🎄

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween and happy November to you all!

What Christmas items from Lush do you want most? 🙂

L’Oréal Colorista: Honest Chatty Review 🐳

Hello lovely peeps!

Does anyone else here get a craving for change when spring arrives? I always get that feeling right around this time of year. The desire to freshen up my wardrobe and change up my style.

I haven’t changed my hair colour for a few years and I wanted to try something I have never tried before. Funnily enough I was scrolling Instagam and saw the ad for L’Oréal Colorista, and it really caught my attention. Usually those ads whiz by me with not a second glance, but this peaked my attention. I decided to do my research before I made any hasty decisions.

Just from a wee bit of research this is what I really liked about the product BEFORE even trying it:

💋 It does not use any peroxide or amonia or any harsh chemicals that some other drugstore hair colours use.

💋 It is vegan. 👍🏻

💋 It’s semi permanent and washes out after 4-8 washes. This made me so happy! You can rock fun hair colour without the commitment.

💋 And lastly, it comes in a very wide range of colours. From Pink to Blue, Violet, Teal and Peach! Everything. There is a colour out there for everyone!
The colour I chose was #BLUE600.

Upon opening it I was DELIGHTED to see there is no mixing required for this hair colour. It is simple, just one bottle of colour, one set of instructions, and 2 pairs of gloves.

I did as instructed on the box and had my hair pre washed and dried before applying the colour. I also did a little test on a chunk of my hair to see how the colour would react, and it went well, so I proceeded.

I decided to just colour the bottom layer of my hair, and a bit of the sides. If you have longer hair, you made need to buy 2 boxes of colour since the one box just managed to colour the bottom layer of my hair. Keep in mind I have very thick hair as well.

I was very pleased with the way it turned out! Once I had my hair dried and let down, the blond and blue mixed together creating a streak like effect. It doesn’t look exactly like on the box but I like it even better somehow.

So, the positive feedback I have after using:

💋 The colours are true to the box, even on more yellow toned blondes such as myself, it still turned a gorgeous pale blue.

*On a side note, upon researching this product I saw a lot of the complaints were of it not covering grey hair, or showing up on darker hair. But if you read the disclaimer on the box it does say that it isn’t recommended for those colours. *

💋 There is no mixing or shaking of bottles required. It’s just one product straight onto your hair, SO easy to use.

💋 The way the dye is absorbed into the hair really interested me. The colour itself starts very dark, but as it sets you’re left with a conditioner like texture on your hair, doing exactly what it feels like, and leaves your hair so soft and moisturized.

And a few cautionary notes I have: (which aren’t really negative, but more so advice on how to get the most out of this product)

👍🏻 As someone with thick hair, you will need to work the colour into your hair quite a bit. It will look like the strand is covered but you have to massage it in to cover every hair evenly.

👍🏻 This product is VERY pigmented with dye. Like holy moly be careful where you colour because it will stain whatever it touches. This includes your skin, but an exfoliant will get it off easy peasy. If you’re near any wood table or anything be sure to cover with newspaper or a towel.

👍🏻 Plan ahead how you are going to dye your hair (all over, streaks, ombré etc…) because once the gloves are on and using the dye, it can be a bit difficult to open and close the bottle. I just suggest to think about how much you’re using and if you will use the brush. Using a bowl is also a good little tip.

👍🏻 If you’re not careful, this stuff can get everywhere. So just be prepared. Get out your hair care check list :

– Towel

– Gloves

– Newspaper (to cover table or whatever)

– Cloth to wipe stray dye off face

– The dye itself.

– Good tunes or a t.v show! You will be waiting 20 – 30 mins for it to set after all 👍🏻

I hope this review is helpful for anyone out there! I was adamant on writings this review, since there didn’t seem to be many out there.

Have a wonderful weekend and I’ll be back soon! 🐳

Beachy Blond Hair Care 💋

Hello lovely people!

One of my favorite styles of all time in the summer is beachy, sunkissed hair!
The whole look, wearing cut off jeans, a cute T-shirt, and golden locks flowing in the wind.
The only downfall to this look is it takes  a while to achieve it. Actually being out in the sun for hours a day is sometimes not possible. The other option I tried, maybe 2 years ago was the whole lemon juice trend, and we all know how damaging that actually is for your hair.
I would like to personally apologize to my hair for those tragic couple of months back in the day.
Technically any lightening of your hair is bad, but I found a way to do it without the split ends and the crustiness 😛

Here is my hair color with partial lightening as of tonight .
(Mind you my hair is lightened by hair dye as well as natural sun)

image

image

My favorite product to use that helps along the lightening process is the ‘Casting Sunkiss Healthy Look’ by Loreal. It claims to be ‘sunshine in a bottle’ and I actually agree!
The first time I bought this I was sure I fell into a gimick. But as I kept using it I noticed the difference.
I applied it in sections first for highlights in my hair, then applied all over for a fuller affect.

image

First off, it smells like summer, sunscreen and fresh air. Who wouldn’t want their hair to smell like that?
And secondly, it actually does nourish you hair while adding a sunkissed affect to it.
My other secret weapon with it is using a heat protector if I’m activating it with a hair dryer rather than sunshine. It is so important to protect your lovely locks. (Even if its just a little bit of heat a day it can really add up!)

The heat protector I am using is for colored hair, and it is by AG. It also smells like orange creamsicle, which was an important selling factor for me 😉

Following up the hairdrying, I like to give my hair a good drink, so I am sure to use a hair oil and/or a leave in conditioner. The ones I am using now is the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Leave in Conditioner, and a coconut hair oil by inecto. This just adds a lovely healthy shine to your hair, and a delightful tropical scent.

That is my full beachy hair care routine! I will be sure to keep you updated on any new discoveries!
As always thank you for reading!
