June Ipsy Bag!

Hello everyone!

How are you all doing on this lovely day?

With the whole pandemic happening I put a pause on any unnecessary spending for about 3 months. I did this mostly to save just in case anything happened, but I’m not even sure how much I really saved because my makeup budget turned into a snack budget real fast 😂

When I saw that little pink parcel in the mail I was over the moon. What’s that song again?

🎶 Brown paper packages tied up with strings, these are a few of my favourite things. 🎶 … but pink instead of brown… you get the picture lol

I did something I never usually do and had a sneak peak of my bag when Ipsy released the lpreviews. I was so happy with what I saw it definitely fuelled my anticipation.

The bag they came out with this month is so cute! I love the bright yellow colour as it immediately makes me think of summer. And the pattern is just so fun! I’ll definitely be using this to pack all my little Knick Knacks in.

I’ll start with what I was looking forward to the most, and that was the perfume Juliette Has a Gun, in the scent Vanilla Vibes.

Ipsy has never sent me a perfume that I didn’t love. They’re always such a good size sample too, it tends to last me a really long time!

The funny part is that I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect summer scent. Something light and fresh that captures the essence of summer. Then Ipsy sent me this, and I was immediately in love. It was literally the exact scent I’ve been looking for. Usually perfume is just plain overpowering for me but this is honestly just the right combination. It also just smells really good on me, like it goes well with my body chemistry… does that make sense? It’s a thing right? 😂

Anyway I 100% plan on buying a full sized bottle once I’ve gone through the sample. And that is really saying something! They always get the perfume right with me.

Honestly if you’re ever unhappy with your Ipsy bag it’s a good idea to re-do the quiz because

a) It’s just a fun quiz to take in general and

b) It will totally change your bag to what you actually want and are going to get use out of.

Moving on!

The other product I was most excited for was the #inmo Cosmetics Velveteen Dream Shadow in the shade Kween Bee. Starting with the packaging I was obsessed. The little illustration on the front made me think of a Sailor Moon character.

For the actual shadow, I am always drawn to gold shimmers, they look amazing on any eye colour and skin tone. Unlike other shimmery shadows, this one actually applies amazing and the brush picks it up perfectly. Hardly any fallout and true to colour. Nothing more I could want! It’ll be at the top of my giant collection of gold eyeshadows!

I was very happy to receive the Youth To The People moisturizing cream as I have never tried the brand before. Supposedly this cream is filled with a whole list of superfoods including kale. 🤔 It can be used all over your face, or as a spot treatment for under your eyes. It’s a whipped consistency so it feels light on your skin but leaves you hydrated. I’m using it mostly for my under eyes and since it’s not very heavy, nor is it scented, it feels very refreshing.

Next this in my bag was the lipstick from Real Her cosmetics.

Honestly something about miniature lipstick just makes me so happy. Most people would probably say this shade is nothing to write home about, but to me it is the exact colour that matches my natural lip perfectly. It enhances the natural colour of my lips beautifully 👄 It’s not the longest lasting formula but it feels very comfortable on the lips, as it’s not drying or too smudgy.

Lastly was the Kohl eyeliner by Sugar. I’ll start by saying I’ve never found an eyeliner pencil that has worked for me outside of Makeup Forever or Mac. Unless it’s luxury quality it tends to melt down my eyes immediately… and that’s definitely what happened here. I was looking like a member from Kiss at the end of the day and it was not working on me 😂 I will be sanitizing and putting this is my kit so it won’t be a total loss!

Well I really loved this Ipsy bag and I’m already excited for next months bag 🤩

Does anyone else get Ipsy? I want to know how you’re getting on with your June bag ?

February Ipsy bag!

Hello lovelies! 😊

I can honestly say February has flown by for me. It feels like I just got my January Ipsy bag, and here I am already gushing over February!

This months bag is rocking a serious 90’s vibe with the orange on denim. I am loving it! My first instinct is to cover it in iron on patches and just complete the whole 90’s masterpiece.

This months bag had so many swatch-able items!

💋 The first swatch is a decadent bronzer from the brand ‘Elizabeth Mott’, and it is called ‘Whatup Beaches?’. Not only do I think the name is charming, the bronzer itself is the perfect matte bronzer. It’s buttery in texture, and not overly pigmented . The colour is just right for my fair skin tone, and it works well for the winter months having no glitter in it.

💋 The second swatch is of the Luna Highlighter in the shade ‘Calypso’, and it is a baked highlighter. In the pan it almost looks purple, but once you swatch it is is more pearlescent. I applied it with the Luxie 514 brush shown (it is a blush brush but hey, I’m a rule breaker) and I must say I love the colour on my skin. While it is not my go to colour for a highlight, it still is a lovely cool tone, and not too overwhelming.

💋 Third swatch is a lip butter Lipstick from NYX in the shade ‘Lifeguard’. It’s your classic red, in a buttery smooth consistency. I am not a huge fan of ‘buttery’ lipsticks myself, I somehow manage to get them all over my face at the end of the day, but I’m willing to give anything a second chance! Especially NYX. I love getting NYX products from Ipsy, because while we do have it in Canada, there are lots of different products that I’ve never seen (like this one) that have arrived from Ipsy.

💋 Fourth, and my most excitable item is the ‘#StayGorgious’ sheet face masks from the brand ‘Bio Belle’. One of them is a hydrating mask filled with yummy Almond Oil, and the second is a glow enhancing mask with Wild Rose and Vitamin C, to liven up your complexion. I have used the Deep hydrating mask so far, and it did a wonderful job of really moisturizing deep down. It kept my skin hydrated and fresh feeling all day. So far these masks get an A+!
Thanks for your time as always!

What did you think of the February bag my fellow Ipsy users? 😊

January Ipsy bag

Hello loves! Happy new year to all (I’m only 28 days late, what?)

How is the new year treating everyone so far?

This months Ipsy came and I was so excited to share with you what I got! I don’t know why I was especially excited this month to receive it, but I just could not wait.  Plus nothing gets me more giddy than seeing that shiny pink packaging in my post box!

On to it!

This was the first month where one item was actually too big to fit the bag, and that was the beautiful Rose Gold tweezers from the brand “The Vintage Cosmetic Company”.

I must say, I have never seen such a majestic pair of tweezers. I’m not exactly a tweeter buff, so gauging its quality off my opinion might not be the most accurate, however, I can say that they are precise and do the job right! They are just a nice pair of tweezers, especially in comparison to the plain little silver ones from the drugstore 😛

The next item was the Smashbox Camera ready BB cream, with SPF 15. The first thing I noticed was the texture. It’s a much thicker BB cream than Clinique or The L’Oréal Dream fresh (my go to’s), which made me intrigued since it has a higher coverage while still soaking in and moisturizing like a traditional BB cream. Then, unfortunately, the second thing I noticed was that it was about 2 shades too dark for my skin. (I think a few people who received this had the same problem) Just for right now at least. I am very fair to start with, and it is also January. Perhaps if it was August and I had been out in the sun more it would be a different story … alas, I like the formula a lot, but just wish the colour matched!

The next item I have already used twice and really enjoy is the pūr~lisse blue lotus seed mud mask. I love the texture of this mask because of how thin it is, but as to wear it you can feel it actively exfoliating and detoxifying. I like the feeling of my face masks actively cleansing, if that makes any sense. For example warming masks, or a tingly mask, those are ones I enjoy. I do admit the tingling sensation this mask provides is quite intense upon first applying it, but is never painful. You just feel it really working on your pores. I rate this product so highly, I will be on the lookout for the full size.

The one swatchable item I received this month was the Naked Cosmetics eyeshadow in Desert Sunset. I’ll start with my positive thoughts. I think the colour of this pigment is stunning. In some light it appears more coppery and deep, in others it looks roses and gentle. It’s a colour that I will search just to look at even though I don’t plan on walearing it. The slightly less positive note I have, is , because it is a pigment it gets absolutely everywhere. The fallout from using it is just all over the face. When I do use it, I will do my eyeshadow first before my foundation because I have to clean up my underwater and cheeks so much. The colour however, when paired with a primer is phenomenal.

Lastly but not least I was chuffed to see a little Rimmel Kate Moss shining in my bag. Everyone knows my love for the Kate Moss line of lipsticks from Rimmel (I wrote a whole blog post about them ) so I was excited to try something from them that I had never tried before. I got a clear lip balm from them, and I’m very impressed! I typically would turn to Burts Bees or eos for a lip balm, but I quite enjoy having a balm in the same shape as a lipstick. It’s so easy to throw on while on the go. The formula is light and smooth, thus safely avoiding any gunky build up around the mouth. It has quickly been promoted to a spot in my hand bag.

Thank you for reading as always and I hope your January has been off to a wonderful start! 😊

November and December Ipsy bags!

Hello there! It’s me, I’m back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a Merry Christmas!

Today I wanted to share with you my November/December Ipsy bags and reviews. Writing this a bit later than usual gave me some time to really use everything and form an honest opinion, which I like!

Here is the November bag!

img_1709

Novembers bag channeled the hype leading up to Christmas. Full of delightful velvet reds, and peachy blushes this bag really impressed me.

A little moment for advice, if you are an Ipsy user and you aren’t feeling very satisfied with your glam bags, by all means go onto your Ipsy account and take the survey again and tweak it! For a couple of my bags I wasn’t exactly thrilled with them and was beginning to think ‘Is this really worth it still?’. I went onto the site and changed a few things, now I’m so ecstatic all over again!

img_1705

I will start with the two items that I have used almost daily this season and that is the Ciate London Liquid Velvet Lipstick in the shade  ‘Diva’, and the LAQA and CO. B’Lighter in the shade ‘Peachers Daughter’.

The Ciate lipstick in the most perfect Christmas red. It dries down, and is totally matte! The color is very pigmented, and it does transfer a bit, but isn’t a big problem if you don’t mind kissy marks on your cups and other things 😛

The B’Lighter was something new to me but I loved it instantly. It is a cream blush and highlight mixed together. The color is a peachy pink with a golden sheen, perfect for imitating the flush of a crisp winter walk, minus a runny nose.

The next item that I have already used up was the Mad Lash mascara from The Balm cosmetics. I knew I would adore it, since I have loved every other The Balm products I’ve been lucky enough to score. Even more excited to see my local drugstore has started to bring it it! Yay!

By far the most interesting item in my bag was the Luxie 524T brush. Its very light and feathery to the touch, whilst being more dense than the average highlighting brush. I’m still finding the perfect use for it in my beauty routine.

The last luxurious item in my bag was the Hey Honey Good Morning facial serum. Unfortunately as I received this in my Ipsy bag, I had just begun to use the Moisture Surge Mask from Clinique. So, whilst it is nonetheless a lovely serum, it doesn’t quite stand up to my Clinique Moisture surge.

Novembers Ipsy bag was a winters dream, I’m giving it an 8 out of 10!

Onto Decembers bag…

img_0643

Just as I had said earlier, If you feel unsatisfied wit your bag, the best thing you can do is go into your Ipsy account and do the quiz over again. My December bag is proof of that miracle!

img_0641

img_0643

First thing to catch my eye was the highlighter/eye shadow from OFRA cosmetics. I have never tried anything from them before, but many of my beauty idols on Youtube rave about them. As you can imagine I was (and still am) beyond excited to add it straight into my makeup bag. The shade I got is called ‘Bliss’, and it is a captivating metallic nude. Its so pigmented, and glides onto the skin like velvet. I rocked this eye shadow for New Years Eve and it lasted me all night!

Of course the other packaging to instantly catch my eye was Tarte! I received the Maracuja Oil, a miracle oil you apply at night to dry skin after your night time cleansing routine. So far I have noticed a positive change in my skin. Especially with all the cold weather we have had here in Canada, a deep moisturizer is exactly what you need at the end of the day. It has kept my skin soft but not oily, even all throughout the night.

The most interesting item in my bad was the INSPR dual brow highlight. It comes with a neutral baby pink shade, and a shimmer pearl  shade. Both colors are beautiful, and I am even tempted to try them out as eye shadows and eye shadow primers.

As per usual Ipsy provided another kick ass eyeliner, this time by the brand Aurora. It is a beautiful dark brown shade, and is a felt tip liner, so it looks almost like a felt pen. My mum eyed it up instantly so I gave to her! 🙂 I am more of a jet black liner kinda gal for liquid liners. But I did swatch it and it is beautiful and insanely long lasting.

Lastly but not least was a small sample of cream from the brand Symphony Beauty. It is called snow cream, and is by far the most interesting hand cream I have ever felt. Its clear, and mousse textured at the same time. When you feel it, it is icy cold to touch, but melts instantly into your skin. Just like snow! A very cute touch to this months bag!

And that was November and Decembers Ipsy bags! I know it was a long wait but thanks for bearing with me! 🙂

More blog posts in the process and on the way, I promise! 😀

As always thanks for your time!

October Ipsy Bag!

Whats that saying? Better late than never right? *nervous laugh*

Cornball sayings aside I am here to chat about the ever so lovely October Ipsy bag.

Gather round lovely peeps as we take a look into last months ghoulish bag of wonder!

img_1629

The bag itself is so cute I squealed with excitement upon seeing it. Something about it is so 90’s meets American Horror Story (Coven to be the exact reference).

img_1631

img_1635

❤ The first thing that excited me was The Balm blush and eye shadow sampler. At first glance its seems too small to ever use as a blush, but man does that little square pack a punch! The pigment in it is great, while the color is still friendly for my skin tone. Plus the packaging is perfect for travel!

❤ The second thing I pulled put (and is still in my nails today) is the Adesse nail polish in the color ‘Grand Central’. It is the perfect witchy polish for the fall months. Its an enchanting silver gray, with an ominous purple undertone. It dries quick and lasts decently long on your nails.

❤ The one wild card in the bag, that I never expected to LOVE as much as I do, is the Sarah Jessica Parker perfume ‘Lovely’. I have a hard time finding a nice perfume because of a sensitivity/allergy to certain ones, but this perfume is light and sweet. The additional bonus is that it comes in a roller ball, making it perfect for throwing in my handbag.

❤ I was very interested when I pulled the noyah lipstick out of my bag. I loved the color immediately (always a sucker for the fall shades) but wasn’t so hot on the formula. While the color was gorgeous, the formula is very smudgy and soft. This is just my opinion however and that might be a trait that someone else loves. I found it moved around too much on me. Aside from that I found it a happy owner.

❤ The final item that I can sag I reach for ever time I do my makeup is the black felt tip eye liner by ‘essence’. Its a great eyeliner if you like the felt tip style, and is stiff for a sharp line, but soft enoufht that its easy on delicate eyelids. Its a true black liner, very pigmented, and best of all when I put it on it doesn’t not budge all day. Then at night it is easy to take off without losing all my eyelashes in the process.
And that was my October Ipsy bag!

Hope you enjoyed reading as much as info writing it, and I promise my November Ipsy bag will be up much sooner than this one! 😁

Thank you for your time!

September Ipsy Bag!

Hello lovely peeps!

This months Ipsy bag was channeling some serious glam power, and I love it!

Its almost as if stating ‘September is no boring month. Hear me roar!’. It certainly brightened my month receiving this bag.

img_1563

Its cute and simple, but also chic. And the items in the bag follow along that theme. Simple but amazing, and very neseccary to any glam gal! (Or guy!)

I say it every month, but I am never dissapointed with these bags, and they just continue to get better!

img_1564

💋The first item I grabbed out was the sweet lips lip balm. Its an organic honey lip balm and it went straight into my handbag. Its moisturizing but not slick or slimey. And it has a faint honey flavor which is another key to a good lip balm (for me) so you do not end up with any weird flavors in your mouth 😂

💋 The second thing to wander out of my September Ipsy bag was the ‘Renewing Mud Mask’ by Whish. I haven’t used it yet but I have a) smelled it and it smells very lightly of roses, and b) noticed it is cruelty free, thus continuing my praise train on this product!

💋 This item I am so exited about, and that is the Contour brush from Crown. It is the one brush I don’t own, and once again Ipsy has  been psychic and sent it to me! 😛

💋 Another psychic item from Ipsy is the Trestique highlighter stick. I had a major blond moment among seeing this item thinking ‘oh no the lid fell off in the bag!’…no, no it did not Missy. That’s just the way the lid looks. But besides my own little blooper reel, the highlighter is gorgeous. Its very cool toned and is well suited to the fast approaching cold months.

💋 Last but certainty not least is the Tarte Lash Paint aka mascara. I did squal a bit upon seeing a tarte product in  my bag. I have not tried it yet, as I’m still so in love with my mascara from Makeup Forever. But I think today will be a good test run day for it. The packaging alone is hypnotic enough to have me in love with it. 😍

Of course, setting the mood for this whole blog post is my favorite candle at the moment ❤

img_1566

‘Sweater Weather’ from Bath and Body works is ruling my world at the moment. I did a recent cheeky order from there getting all the fall necessities for the next couple months. Even a few Christmas pre orders snuck their way in.

I hope you’re all having a superb day, and as per usual thank you so much for stopping by and reading! Let me know what you think of this months Ipsy bag!

August Ipsy Bag!

Hello lovelies! And hello fellow Ipsters!

Yes, it is nearly the end of August and I am only posting this now. Shame on me 😛

This months bag is the cutest design of them all in my opinion. And I say every month that it just keeps getting better and better. But it remains true!

IMG_1522IMG_1518IMG_1523IMG_1524

💋 I was so excited to see the Argan Oil Conditioning treatment. It was the first thing I spotted in my bag, and I recognized the label right away from my Argan Oil shampoo. Its a gentle treatment different from others I’ve ever used. Other treatments coat your hair with a layer of product, making it smooth but not actually nourishing. This is different in the sense that it doesn’t make your hair feel slick, but once conditioned and dry, its decadently soft and bouncy.

💋Next I saw the NYX Liquid Illuminator. I am so excited to try this product! At first swatch it is very pigmented. I had no idea what to expect. The smallest little drop of it creates so much illumination. So a tiny drop in my foundation is all you need to get that sunny glow.

💋 Trust Fund Beauty liquid lipstick in the shade ‘K, bye’. The shade of liquid lip is utterly adorable, and so is the name. My only complaint is the smell of the product. (I know, again with complaining of smells) But when I put it on it is the only thing I smell.
💋 This Works, In Transit camera close up nourishing mask. This product claims to be a mask, moisturizer and primer all in one. I am yet to try it, but entirely curious as to how it conquers all tasks. Hmmm.

💋 Formula X nail polish in the shade ‘Dollface’. I do love a good pastel. I will be currently testing out this polish for chip resistance and all that, but so far I am obsessed with the color and how small it is. The mini samplers of polish are perfect for me, since I can never even get through a big bottle!
That’s what my August Ipsy bag had in it! My apologies for the late post. August has been delightfully busy and fun. Filled with late sunsets, trips to the beach, and games of cards.

Hope you’re enjoying your day!

June Ipsy Bag! (My first glam bag!)

Hello lovely people! 🙂

As you can tell by the title I got my first Ipsy bag in the mail!

First off, I have to say it comes in the cutest bubble envelope ever. Bright metallic purple is one of my favorite colors, and that’s what color it was!

Upon opening I was not disappointed. The style of the glam bag this month is ‘Rebel’, and it is completely decked out in graffiti style font, and bright colors.
I’m not one of those people that keep a ton of bags like this, but the pattern is so cute and unique I am holding on to this one for sure!

image

See? What did I tell ya? So cute and colorful!

I’m literally sitting down in front of all my little goodies as we speak, so I can give you my honest thoughts on each of them 🙂

image

💋The first thing I plucked from my bag was this 3 tone bronzer by Crown.
First thing I love is that fact that it comes in the tiniest compact I have ever seen!
So cute! I love mini stuff, and it looks like it would fit perfectly into a overnight bag!
Upon searching it, it is creamy and soft, but not overly pigmented. For me, this is good. Any bronzer on me looks to dark to begin with, but because this is a mix of colors I think it could be perfect!

💋 Next up is the Urban Decay Lounge eyeshadow. Holy….moly. This is a duotone eye shadow and it is some real magic. One shade is metalic red, the other is green. It is so pigmented and stunningly bright. I can’t wait to wear this tomorrow!

💋 My next little goodie is the Kajal Vasanti waterline eyeliner in Intense Black. I have always wanted to rock the intense waterline but haven’t found the perfect smudge/streak/bleed free eyeliner. Trying this out tomorrow so we will just have to wait and see! 😮

💋 The next sample is one I am most interested in, and It is the ‘Everything Balm’, by Delectable. It claims to do everything from plumping your lips and hydrating your cuticles, to adding a glow to your cheekbones.
When first searching it, it looks like a matte primer, but as it works into the skin it glosses up and shines.
And it also smells like birthday cake, so A+ on that! 👍

💋Last but not least is a gorgeous shade of nail polish by Julie. It is the perfect shade of pastel turquoise and I love that it is in a mini bottle, because I do love nail polish but I feel like I never really finish a bottle. And once again…obsessed with mini stuff  😛

I’ve just finished looking through my June bag and I’m already fantasizing about what could be in July’s! 😆
