My Top 5 Fitness Must-Haves

Hello you lovely people,

Today I wanted to talk about my favourite fitness must haves. I feel like more than ever nowadays, there is an overwhelming sea of products for fitness and healthy living. At times it can be hard to sift through that plethora of information to find an honest and experienced answer.

So here are my 5 favourite workout goodies, and why I absolutely love them!

1. And Probably my most favorite of all is the Fitbit Versa Lite. This is a necessity for me as I LOVE keeping track of things lol. The Fitbit Versa tracks my calories burned, steps, and most importantly (for me) my heart rate. I love the colors it comes in, although I definitely would have loved it even more if it came in pink. Overall it’s a wonderful device. One of my favorite features that is the most underrated is the ‘Relax’ app. It will track your heart rate while it takes you through breathing exercises, using colors to indicate if your breathing/heart rate is in a great, good, or needs work zone. I use this quite often at any time of the day if I’m feeling anxious or stressed. It is an easy and discreet way to slip in a guided meditation.

2. I decided to fully invest in some good quality resistance bands and it improved my workout game so much! I decided to get the Peach Bands Resistance bands. I did some research looking for a Canadian fitness company and I was immediately obsessed with their bright pink and purple fitness gear. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but the bands themselves are resilient and have a great feel. They don’t roll or pinch (unless you really twist them). The weight of these bands ranges from Light (10 lbs) to Xtra Heavy (35lbs) giving a broad range of weight. If you need to have heavier resistance you can easily double up on the bands and get that weight you need without any discomfort. These bands are a slender shape making it easy to use 2 at a time. They also pair great with dumbbells or by themselves for the perfect quarantine workout. (Should I do a post on my quarantine workout?!?!)

3. Sweet Sweat Workout Enhancer. This stuff has taken my cardio from average to a full-on sweat sesh. It is a bit of an adjustment applying a product like this to your skin as it’s not supposed to soak in. The whole idea is you apply it to the surface of your skin and it makes you sweat like 5x more than normal (not an actual scientific number but you get what I’m saying 😉) You apply to slow-reacting areas or spots you want to focus on in your workout and presto, you are sweating your booty off. I find it helps me be less sore in the morning and helps my muscles be less fatigued at the time of my workout.

4. Keto Bomb Coffee Creamer. Just thinking about this makes me so excited for my morning cuppa coffee. Like I’m actually salivating a little bit 😆 Save your money you would spend on expensive ‘specialty’ coffee, and try some Keto Bomb. My favorite flavors are French Vanilla and Caramel Macchiato. The best part is enjoying the amazing flavors and knowing they are a fraction of the sugar you would normally have with a regular Starbucks coffee. Not to mention you’re giving your body the fuel it needs with Vitamins like Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium. I love using my Bodum frother to top it off and making it deliciously frothy and aesthetically pleasing. ☕️ ✌️

*A a side note here….specialty coffee if fun and delicious and nothing is wrong with enjoying them! I love a PSL and nothing will hold a candle to that. The amount of sugar in a food doesn’t make it ‘good’ or ‘bad’. 😘

5. Is the most basic but makes the most sense and that is a Yoga Mat. I got my yoga mat so long ago I can’t even remember the brand 😂 But I use it every workout. Not only is it an important cushion for your body but it’s nice to have a designated area laid out for working out. I find it creates guidelines for me when I’m doing exercises. It helps me center myself and check my form.

I hope everyone is having a happy Saturday and I’d love to hear about your favorite fitness goodies you can’t live without!

January Favourites

I’m going to be honest, I was so excited to write a January favourites post it was one of the only sure-fire posts I knew I was going to write. I was inspired and ready to write. Then February came along and somehow my brain just forgot about it like ‘nope nothing to see here’. So, this is my long-winded apology for not having a favourites post for a *very* long time.

I was just using so many of the same things that it felt repetitive. I was in a slump. Mostly why there was/is a lack of new product reviews is just because I’m saving every penny I can for school! But that doesn’t mean I haven’t tried anything at all 😛 I’m out of the slump!

Oh boy, where do I start… The makeup of course! So many new favourites, some I have already spoken about in short reviews so I’ll keep them to the point.

  1. ColourPop Eyeshadow. I treated myself to a little ColourPop haul in early December as I had never tried that brand before. I didn’t really do a haul post since it was such a tiny order and many other bloggers had such wonderful extravagant posts…I just felt that mine might be a bit underwhelming in comparison 😂 However I’m happy to say I’ve tried them and I’m just as impressed as I’d hoped I’d be 😄 These are the 3 Super Shock shadows I was most excited to try! They are in the shades: Fluffy, Sequin and Catnap. After playing with them and getting used to the new consistency I have started sneaking them into any makeup look I can! At first, it threw me off, but I realized some shadows I ordered were glitters (lots of glitters but not as much pigment) and others more pigment and fewer shimmer chunks.

2. Sheet face masks. This might be self-explanatory but look how freaking cute these are! I love a face mask that keeps a mess to a minimal but still delivers results. Mostly it’s just the novelty of putting one on, maybe having a bath, relaxing and then peeling it off to *hopefully* expose softer more vibrant skin.

3. Lush hair masks. Specifically speaking about the hot oil hair treatments that come on a stick. Not only do they serve up amazing nutrition and conditioning for your locks, but they are a great bang for your buck. Just store in an old clean lush pot and use a small amount of hot water to reactivate after storing. I get about 3 – 4 uses out of each, which I consider being an amazing deal. The one I have been loving is called ‘Damaged’ and it is a powerhouse for repairing and hydrating any kind of hair.

4. Total Tease Mascara by Rimmel. I think I’ve raved about this before but this Mascara holds strong as my absolute favourite (next to the Clinique Mascara) and is still going strong. I feel a bit bold saying I do in fact love the synthetic brush and just how short and sturdy the bristles are. It works so well with my eyelashes, grabbing every one! The formula of it is light but you can layer it up for a full look. My absolute favourite part though is that it is NOT waterproof, but will stay on all day with no fallout or anything. Then at night, it washes off so easy with no missing eyelashes.

5. NYX Eyebrow Gel. I was feeling adventurous after my last brow product ran out and saw all the products on the NYX stand calling out my name. I had tried brow pencils, powders and pomade, but never a gel. I have very full brows and I knew I need something pigmented but pliable to work and that’s exactly what delivered. Now the term ‘gel’ threw me off since it’s more of a liquid/soft pomade in my opinion, but I was relieved by the consistency. The colour matches my brows and it stays on strong all day. My only woe is how fast it dries. With that being the only annoyance, it also means that it never smears or budges.

6. Loreal Colorista Hair colour. I recently had an itch to dye my hair but didn’t want to use any harmful chemicals (which is typically what throws me off of any hair dying) I remembered that I had one bottle of the L’Oréal Colorista still tucked away in my bathroom. I am so impressed by how well it not only dyes my hair but how soft and healthy my hair feels after. The other best part is that it will wash out after 4-8 washes, making it the perfect dye if you don’t want to commit to a colour permanently. The only downside is that it strictly only works on blond or highlighted hair. Anything darker than dirty blonde it will not absorb into the hair at all. On the upside, they sell absolutely everything you would need to lighten your hair and then dye it, and even wash it out if you don’t like the colour!

7. American Eagle Perfume: Live Your Life. Something about this perfume is just perfect to me. I bought it a couple of years ago on holiday, and it is a chameleon for every season, matching perfectly for cold or hot seasons. The smell is almost indescribable to me, but I can say its a sweet yet rich smell. I’m hoping to high heavens that it isn’t discontinued or anything because I use it about 3-4 times a day to freshen up and I will need a refill soon! Not only does the smell remind me of that holiday, but I can wear it no matter what season it is! I classify this as more of a body mist because of the light scent, which is another reason I love it so dearly. I don’t like too strong of scents, but I still want it to last me. Also, what can I say? I love a good perfume with an inspirational quote on the bottle 😛

Thanks for stopping by! ❤️

Has February flown by just as fast for you as it has for me?

Lush Haul ❤️ Trying New Goodies

Hello loves!

Feels like I’m finally back with fun blog posts after such a creativity drought!

I feel refreshed and so happy to be back! January has already been amazing and I cannot wait for the coming year. 2018 will be my year!

To celebrate I went and indulged in a little *not so little* Lush haul. They were still having their ‘2 for 1’ deal on Christmas products, but I only snagged a couple Snow Angel bath bombs. Everything else was fairly picked through and really there was only like one shower gel left.

Enough chatter, onto the haul!

I am extra lucky because this haul was basically possible because of my boyfriend and the lovely gift card he gave me for my birthday, so thanks babe! 😛

I felt like there were lots of items that I hadn’t tried in a long time, or just flat out forgot existed. So my fave originals are:

Ickle Baby Bot

Twilight

Milky Bar

These cuties are so simple but delicious. I used to pick these up almost every time I would nip into a Lush shop. Then between Halloween and Christmas excitement I forgot all about them!

They all have very simple scents to them, making them an easy choice for any bath time. Twilight is very sweet, Ickle Baby Bot is luxurious lavender, and Milky bar is a wonderful fresh scent.

I also picked up some returning favourites like Butterball and Marilyn (hair mask <3)

Specifically I do want to rave about their hot oil hair treatments for a second. When you buy them, they come on the stick as pictured. Once you add the hot water and stir, it transforms into a creamy amazing mask.

I said this before, but with the solid masks you can store them in old Lush pots and re use for later. You don’t have to use all the mask in one go, and you can re-activate with a dash of hot water.

For hair masks I picked up 2, one of them being Marilyn and the other is called Damaged.  I thought it would be great for keeping my hair moisturized despite the crappy cold weather. If its as good as Marilyn I am in for a great treat!

The last one I want to rave about is Sex Bomb. Until now I didn’t quite get the hype about it and I don’t know why. This little bundle of love is so beautiful and I cannot wait to see what captivating surprises are inside. The funny thing is I bought this a long time ago, so long I’ve completely forgotten what it looked and smelled like!

I will leave a full list below of what I got 🙂

Who else is already excited for the Valentines day collection?

Snow Angel

Milky Bar

Butterball

My Favourite Candles from Summer

Hello everyone!

The days are getting shorter, and the leaves are starting to change colour. While most people would groan waking up to a grey dark day, my eyes lit up with excitement, watching bright leaves fall in contrast to the sky. What does all this poetic mumbo jumbo mean? It’s Autumn!

I mean not ‘officially’ yet, but it sure feels like it. My favourite thing to do for each season is bring out my seasonal bedding and all my favourite candles. Which means putting away my summer selection, which I loved so dearly.

So, I thought I would tell you my official favourite candles from the summer!

After today all my Autumn favourites will take its place! What are some of your favourite candle scents?

(On a side note, I am having a giggle with myself, if anyone has watched Scream Queens you will know who Candle Blogger is from that show, and I always laugh at myself when I rave about my candles because I know I sound just like her 😂)

Anyhow, I’ve narrowed it down to 6 ( still laughing over here because I sound like a candle obsessed lunatic)

To add to my insanity, I actually burn my candles throughout different parts of the summer, so I’ll start fro the top!

🌺 In the beginning of the summer I love fresh fruity scents. Anything that’s sweet and colourful, I want my room and house to be fun and fresh. With that being said, my favourite ‘early summer’ candle to burn is Georgia Peach. I love it because it reminds me of peach cider, and when summer hits you know the peach cider will be flowing. I don’t live near the Okanagan, but this candle is what I imagine the peach orchards to smell like in the summer.

🌺 As summer bursts, and the heatwave hits, I love anything that reminds me of the beach. Pink Apple Punch, and Coconut Leaves combined is like bringing the beach home with you. Coconut Leaves is a light scent of coconut and fresh air, similar to that of sunscreen and ocean breezes. Pink Apple Punch is super sweet and fruity, just like popsickles! The two combined I can imagine smell like a day at the beach!

🌺 Lastly, as summer quiets down, lazy days are plentiful. The kind where you just sit back and finally breath. Sun Soaked Sandalwood is the exact candle that makes me feel that calm warm feeling. The sandalwood in it is light and calming, while other hidden smells remind me of fresh linen.

Next is Bergamot waters, which smells exactly as the name describes. I imagine this candle is what a lake side cabin would smell like in late summer 🙂

And last of the last is Farmstand Apple. It smells of apples. What more can I say? At the end of the summer our Apple trees are drooping with fresh apples, and when we pick them their rich smell fills the air. This candle is like having that apple trees right in your room. I have never smelt anything so spot on to fresh apples. Its definitely my favourite time of summer when the Apple picking begins, and this candle embodies that excitement 🍎

I hope you enjoy this post! I know it’s different from my usual beauty and fashion, but I can’t hide my candle obsession anymore!

Hope you’re having a lovely Sunday and I’ll be here again soon!

On a parting note, here’s a picture of my adorable succulent I recently planted 🌱
